This custom-made wheelchair leash includes a chair attachment, detachable short lead, AND a detachable handle. Now you can use the same lead for working that you use for breaks and playtime. No longer will your leash get tangled up. No more switching leashes or struggling to keep a hold of the dog. We will make this lead to the exact length needed for your dog to work comfortably and safely. Detach the lead from the chair and clip on the handle to take the dog for a break or playtime.
The Wheelchair Leash has 3 parts:
1) The CHAIR ATTACHMENT mounts to the wheelchair. Easy to install on any part of the chair frame/tubing. Metal quick-release buckle is easy to operate. Includes a swivel to eliminate tangling. Easily attach and detach the lead with the quick release buckle.
2) The DETACHABLE LEAD is made to your desired length (usually 20-30”). The lead has a bolt snap on one end to attach to the dog’s collar, and a quick-release buckle on the other. The buckle clicks onto the chair attachment. The lead length is adjustable for a perfect fit. Lead includes a ring to attach a leash.
3) Leash HANDLE clips to lead for use as a regular leash.

This specialized leash suits a variety of client needs. Some service dog teams who use the Wheelchair Leash rely on an aide to assist with attaching and detaching the dog. Others with better dexterity prefer this style lead because it is so easy to clip onto the chair and detach as needed.
MEASURE the leash LENGTH you need FROM THE CHAIR TO THE DOG. Please indicate this in a note to seller when you check out. Determine where you want the leash to attach to your wheelchair, and measure the length from the chair to the dog’s collar (or harness). Be sure the leash is short enough to prevent the lead from becoming trapped in the wheel or motor, yet long enough the dog can turn around and fit behind the chair to go through a doorway. Don’t worry; there is some adjustment in the leash length so you can get a perfect fit.
